Our photography program is generously sponsored by Sony as part of Boys & Girls Club of America's Sony ImageMaker's program. Students have the opportunity to work with full manual SLR digital cameras in a variety of settings. In this program we focus on developing the creative eye to get a sense of perspective as well as camera basics and exposure and lighting variables. Photos are collected throughout the year for our local Art & Photography show. Local winners are submitted to the Sony ImageMakers regional show and if placed onto the national competition.
In our Fine Arts program, students have the opportunity to learn and work with a variety of mediums. Artwork is collected throughout the year and displayed locally at the Art & Photography show on the second floor of the Laramie County Library throughout the month of January. Local winners will then compete in the Boys & Girls Club of America Fine Arts Exhibit.
Calling all writers and book nerds! This is by far the coolest literature class your child will ever get to experience. We bring fictional works to life through a curriculum that is designed to let readers live inside the story. From Harry Potter to Coraline, the Phantom Tollbooth to the Hobbit our kids connect to the magic of the literature they are reading through unique hands on opportunities and experiences.
Please be advised this class is for the advanced reader ages 8-12.
