National Fine Arts Program

Members of the Boys & Girls Club of Cheyenne will have their photographs displayed at the Cheyenne Depot from March 19 - March 23, 2012.

The Club participates in the BGCA National Fine Arts Program providing the opportunity for local members to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through visual arts, as well as compete for national honors.

The exhibit has ten categories including monochromatic drawing, multicolored drawing, pastel, watercolor, oil/acrylic, print making, mixed media, collage, sculpture and group project. This program also gives Clubs the ability to showcase the artwork of their Club members in the community. Our Club is one of approximately 1,200 Clubs across the country participating in this program. The program is comprised of:

Local Shows (January) – Club members of all ages showcase their work at a local exhibit. The first place winners in each category and four age groups are sent on to the regional competitions.
Regional Shows (March) – Local Clubs submit artwork and shows and judging are conducted in six regional locations in May and June. (The Boys & Girls Club of Cheyenne is part of the BGCA Southwest Region.) First place artwork at the regional level proceeds to the national contest.
National Contest (June) – The top artwork in each of four age groups and ten categories are selected as national winners. Each national winner has his or her artwork showcased on the virtual gallery.
